Video surveillance
Many cameras record for months without anyone noticing that the picture is out of focus or that the recorder has stopped. We design video surveillance around what needs to be seen and keep the system capturing what matters.
Signs you need this
- When a recording had to be reviewed, the picture did not show what mattered.
- Nobody can say for certain whether the cameras are recording right now.
- Viewing the footage means going to the room where the recorder sits.
A badly placed camera films the ceiling, a doorway against the light or a face nobody can recognise. The problem tends to surface on the day the recording is needed, when nothing can be done about it.
That is why we start with a coverage study: what each camera has to show, at what distance and in what light. That determines the choice between IP and analogue cameras, the position and angle of each one, and a recorder with enough capacity for the recording period agreed with you. Cameras depend on the cabling, the power and, in some cases, the Wi-Fi: a recorder without a UPS loses the hours when the power is off, which may be exactly the hours that matter.
After installation, preventive maintenance visits are used to clean and realign the cameras, confirm that recordings are complete and replace components before a fault leaves a blind spot.
How we deliver
Coverage study
We agree with you what each area must show and visit the site to choose positions and angles.
Proposal
We set out in writing the cameras, the position of each, the recorder and the intended recording period.
Installation
We install the cameras and recorder, connect them to the network and to protected power, and set up remote viewing.
Picture check
We confirm each angle with the person in charge and test searching for and exporting a recording.
Training and handover
We show how to watch live footage, find an event and export a clip, and hand over the documentation.
What you keep
- A plan showing the position and field of view of every camera
- A reference image from every camera, taken on handover day
- Access to the footage set up on the phones and computers of those responsible
- Recorder credentials held by your organisation
- A report of every maintenance visit
